I know what Marble is. Thanks for the confirmation, Apple Insider.

picture-222Would you rather drink Soda in many small sips or in one giant chug? Mac Soda now gives you the choice. We came to the realization that quick news updates with short comments would be much easier to maintain on a more frequent basis than long posts on Mac Soda. While Mac Soda absolutely will continue to be updated with big news, funny stories, and Live Blogs, twitter will host more of our quick news flashes. Add us as a friend on Twitter and bookmark us at http://www.twitter.com/macsoda. Bookmark that page along with the normal site, and check both sites daily to quench your daily thirst of Apple news!

UPDATE: Add us as a friend on Facebook as well!

Apple is holding a special event Tuesday, and Mac Soda will be covering it live! The way it works, considering were not at the event, is we have a panel of feeds from Giz, Engadget, etc., and Mac Soda will spin the updates in a way that’s both fast and interesting. We take questions from re readers live, and there’s NO REFRESHING, due to our use of the fantastic Cover It Live software.

Be sure to join us at 9:30 PST, as I’m sure Apple has some cool stuff to show us (tablet?)

Oh, and I know that the video is old. Nevertheless, its cool, and I’d like to see that wifi, 3G toggle tomorrow.

Posts Coming Tuesday

March 14, 2009

Hey Readers,

I apologize for my lack of posts. I have been extremely busy as of late, but tonight I’m going to have some free time to post. I’ll comment on the event, the shuffles, and more, and of course on Tuesday I’ll be liveblogging the iPhone 3.0 Event!

It’s nice to hear how much you guys enjoy Mac Soda. I assure you, this blog isn’t dying… Soda is here to stay.

Check back Tuesday for the event,,

picture-205THIS IS THE BEST NEWS EVER! A new rumor today says that March 24th will be a software only event, particularly focusing on Final Cut Studio 3. I am so excited right now! Perhaps we’ll finally see Shake merge with Motion into Phenomenon? Or the new Storyboarding App? Or Final Cut Extreme? A redesigned Color? Or something completely new and different? Whatever it is, I’m excited. I would also predict we’ll see an updated Logic Studio. My ultimate dream? An Apple designed high-end video camera. But I think we all know that won’t happen.

What would you like to see in Final Cut Studio 3? Let me know in the comments.

picture-203I am in the market for a new High Definition video camera, and thought I’d ask the good readers of MacSoda for their opinions on the matter. I’m not looking for something like the Sony HDV-HC1, but rather something like the RED SCARLET. The RED ONE intrigued me, but the price is too steep.

Post your recommendations, along with links, in the comments. The only requirements are that it must be under 10 Grand, it must be able to shoot 1080p at a variety of frame rates, and it must have a high Depth of Field. The best recommendations at each price point (2k, 3k, 4k… 10k) will win a virtual high five and a virtual pat on the back from me in the form of a post, and I’m sure you’ll help out budget filmmakers everywhere.

So what are you waiting for? Recommend away!

picture-201After a few months of no real Apple news whatsoever, and a few years of people waiting head over heels for updates to the mini (which died, resurrected, died again, and rose again), Apple has FINALLY answered the calls of the people with substantial updates to the Mac Mini, iMac, and Mac Pro. Apple also introduced a new Airport Express, Wireless Keyboard, updated the MacBook Pro 15 inch, and updated Time Capsule. A whole laundry list of goodies!

Of note, the Mac Mini leak was legitimate as we confirmed earlier.

With all this out of the way, it looks like the March 24th rumored media event could bring us some new cool stuff (PLEASE let it be Apple TV, Final Cut Studio 3, and Snow Leopard!)

(Also, I apologize for the lack of posts in the past couple of weeks. I have been extremely busy, and with nothing really juicy to blog about, I haven’t felt an urge to write anything up. I will start posting more regularly now, as I see that we are finally hitting the season of Apple updates).
