Picture 155Yesterday I tried posting my latest short film on Youtube, but couldn’t because the file size was slightly over the 1GB limit. Today, I degraded the quality slightly, for it to fit the limit. To my surprise, when I was about to click upload, I notice a change on the site… Youtube’s maximum allowed file size is now 2GB! This should definitely help boost the quality of some of the longer films, including mine.

While I know this post isn’t directly Apple related, I thought I would share the info with you anyways.

Picture 1329to5Mac reports on an interesting bit of news… apparently the iPhone 3GS (man I can’t stand that name) has a new coating meant to reduce fingerprints and smudges on the screen. If I was going to purchase the new iPhone (which I don’t think I will because I don’t qualify for the pricing), I know I would enjoy this. I’ll be sure to check this out at an Apple store.

Look at the top right hand corner of the banner… at least you can see that Final Cut Pro will take advantage of 64 bit when it arrives with Snow Leopard.

Picture 130From their press release…

AT&T will offer iPhone 3G S and iPhone 3G at a variety of attractive prices:

  • iPhone 3G S will cost $199 (16GB) and $299 (32GB).
  • iPhone 3G will cost $99 (8GB) for new and qualifying customers.
  • The 16 GB iPhone 3G will be available for $149 while supplies last.

Well AT&T just lost my 300 dollars. No way am I paying 400/500 dollars for an iPhone with video, speed and a compass, that’s monthly plan follows that of a subsidized phone.

Boy is that Palm Pre looking good right now…

screaming-man.jpgWell, well, well. WWDC came and went, and no Final Cut Studio. Commenters are calling me a complete failure, and rightfully so… I really screwed this one up. I don’t know what happened. I was told it would arrive with a public beta of Snow Leopard, so were a number of other sites, and it didn’t come. I apologize deeply to anyone who’s hopes I got up with this rumor… I’m just downright baffled. I can assume at this point that it will come in September with Snow Leopard, as the two are complete dependent on each other. All I can say is this: there was definitely a change in Apple’s plans, because today we were supposed to have a Public Beta of Snow Leopard with Final Cut Studio 3, and it didn’t come. Time will tell to see why they changed their plans, and I’ll be sure to have a talk with some people, but for now I guess patience is the way to go. For those saying Apple’s abandoning their pro apps, that’s ludicrous. Their latest Final Cut Studio is far in development, but obviously they decided to wait for Snow Leopard to be finished. As for the rest of my pre-event predictions, let’s see how I did. Read the rest of this entry »

Picture 54For phone users, mac lovers, and video editor around the world, next Monday is Apple’s last remaining public event: call it the Macworld of the next decade. While the event is geared toward developers, the keynote is definitely not just for developers, as Apple tends to announce pretty major products at WWDC… now more than ever. With one week to go until the big day, we thought we would post our predictions now.
